How to Clarify Drilling fluids materials?

Drilling fluids material can divide into clay type, weighting material and mud mixing water and oil etc.

Bentonite is the main material for water base drilling fluids. It can add viscosity and shearing ability, improve the stability of well hole.

Weighting material is grinding from inert substance which is insoluble in water. To deal with high pressure layer and stabilize the well wall, add weighting material can improve the density of drilling fluid. The most widely used in oilfield are Barite with API standard. Secondly used is Hematite and ilmenite, which is mainly used in acidulated shale layer.

Water, crude oil, diesel and low toxicity mineral oil is the basic material when prepare drilling fluids in different mud system. Water is the essential substance. According to the soluble inorganic salt content in the water, normally divided into fresh water drilling fluids, salt drilling fluid and saturated salt water drilling fluid. When water content with more Ca2+ and Mg2+, then called as hard water.
