2020-01-08

Aker BP has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority for appraisal drilling on last year’s Liat?rnet discovery in the Norwegian North Sea.

Odfjell Drilling’s semisubmersible Deepsea Nordkapp is due to spud well 25/2-22 S in 112 m (367 ft) of water on production license 442 in mid-January. The consent extends to a side track, 25/2-22 A.

Drilling is expected to take 36 days to complete.

The five-year contract, due to start this summer, covers drilling operations, workovers, P&A activities and preventative and corrective maintenance of drilling facilities on three offshore platforms in the Greater Ekofisk Area.
